NIST has sent you 25 sets of printed documents. For E A C H document set you have two main tasks: 1) Your first task is to create a very short single-document summary of each document in the set. A very short summary should not be longer than 75 characters - this includes spaces and punctuation. We will chop off characters beyond the 75th, so please do not include more than 75. You have been emailed a file to put your summaries in. It will be laid out to help you know when you have used 75 characters. In creating each very short summary you should keep in mind the following scenario for its use. Imagine that to save time, rather than read through a set of complete documents, you first read a list of very short summaries of those documents and based on these summaries you choose which documents to read in their entirety. Create your very short summaries to be useful in such a scenario. A very short summary could look like a newspaper headline, be a list of important terms or phrases separated by commas, a sentence, etc. It should not contain any formatting, i.e., no indented lists, etc. Feel free to use your own words. 2) After you have created the very short single-document summaries, you will create a short multi-document summary of the entire document set. A short summary should not be longer than 665 characters - this includes spaces and punctuation. We will chop off characters beyond the 665th, so please do not include more than 665. You have been emailed a file to put your summaries in. It will be laid out to help you know when you have used 665 characters. Within the size limits, you should try to represent ALL the content of the document set to some degree. Feel free to use your own words
